Turkish language, origin and dialects spoken over the world.

Origin and History

In the Altaic language group, the Turkish language is the main member of the Turkic language family. In Turkey, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Greece and other countries of the former Ottoman Empire, Turkish is a language spoken by several million ethnic Turkish immigrants in Europe. Turkish is a Turkic language, and it is considered to be an Altaic language. Turkish uses vowel harmony, much like Finnish, Estonian and Hungarian. Typically, the word order is subject-object-verb.

Dialects

Turkish used to be printed from about 900 to 1928 with the Arabic script. In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Turkish is the major tongue, but it has a distinct dialect. It can be referred to as Cypriot Turkish. With a high degree of precision and specificity, it reflects modern Turkish pronunciation. It is the new official alphabet used in various eras and the newest in a sequence of separate alphabets.

Other Turkic languages, including Azerbaijani, Turkmen, Uzbek and Kazakh, are most closely related to Turkish. Another principle is that it is one of the many Altaic languages, including Japanese, Mongolian, and Korean as well.

Countries spoken

In Turkey, Cyprus, and elsewhere in Europe and the Middle East, Turkish is spoken. It forms the southwestern, or Oğuz, branch of the Turkic languages, with Gagauz, Azerbaijani (sometimes called Azeri), Turkmen, and Khorāsān Turkic.

In parts of the former Ottoman Empire, including Kosovo and Macedonia, where it has official status in particular municipalities, and in Iraq, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Albania and Serbia, Turkish is also spoken by small groups of Turks. Additionally, in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland and France, Turkish immigrant groups speak the language.
